About the Role

Product Designer, Contract

Position: Product Designer Level: Mid–Senior, Contract Reports to: Principal Product Designer Location: Remote

About our client

Our client is a personal health brand that is raising the bar for daily wellness. Known for our best-selling, clinically backed prenatal, we create science-backed supplements with transparency at their core. We believe women deserve products they can trust, backed by real evidence—not just promises.

We started by reinventing the multivitamin with the first visible supply chain of its kind. Today, we're expanding into new categories with the same high standards that built our reputation. Hundreds of thousands trust our client, and we're growing fast.

Our team of 120+ scientists, creatives, and skeptics is raising the bar for women's health. We're venture-backed, based in sunny Los Angeles, and always looking for people ready to challenge the industry—and do the best work of their careers.

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Designer to join our client on a contract basis and own our ecommerce design queue end to end — including the moments where an idea needs more than the theme editor to ship. We recently migrated to Shopify Plus, and rather than splitting design and light Liquid development across two people, we want one person who can do both: design the page, and when needed, build the custom section or block that makes it possible. This role is primarily design but it's a strong fit for someone who's genuinely comfortable in Shopify Plus and who'd rather solve a technical constraint directly than wait on a dev queue.

What You'll Do

  • Design acquisition landing pages and iterate against conversion data to improve performance
  • Support production design support on major initiatives, including a homepage redesign, navigation redesign, and PDP template updates
  • Produce campaign and launch assets for physical product drops, including in-situ product mockups
  • Produce on-brand emails at the pace of the launch calendar
  • Design and iterate on smaller experience updates, from loyalty program refinements to new checkout and account features
  • Write custom Liquid to support designs the current theme can't handle natively
  • Flag feasibility issues early by working directly within Shopify Plus theme architecture — pages, sections, blocks — instead of designing in a vacuum

Who You Are

  • Primarily a designer, but genuinely comfortable in code when it's the fastest way to ship your own idea
  • A self-starter who owns your queue and doesn't need heavy direction to keep moving
  • Genuinely curious about ecommerce and growth — you want to know why a page converts, not just how it looks
  • A clear communicator who can explain design and technical trade-offs to non-designers and non-engineers alike

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of product, UX, or UI design experience, with a portfolio that includes Shopify ecommerce work
  • Deep fluency in Figma, including component libraries, prototyping, and developer handoff
  • Experience designing for growth or new-customer acquisition — landing pages, onboarding flows, or CRO-focused work
  • Strong familiarity with Shopify Plus theme structure: themes, pages, sections, and blocks
  • Comfort writing custom Liquid to extend a theme beyond its native capabilities is a strong plus
  • Experience designing for email (Klaviyo or a similar ESP)

We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every qualification listed above. We're committed to building a diverse team and recognize that skills can be developed in many different ways.

Compensation

Pay Range: [TBD — contract hourly/day rate] This is a contract engagement. Compensation is set per the agreed contract rate; Our client's full-time benefits package (medical, 401(k), equity, PTO, etc.) does not apply to this role.

Must-Have Skills

5+ years of product, UX, or UI design experience with a portfolio that includes Shopify ecommerce work, deep fluency in Figma including component libraries prototyping and developer handoff, and experience designing for growth or new-customer acquisition such as landing pages onboarding flows or CRO-focused work.

Nice-to-Have

Comfort writing custom Liquid to extend a theme beyond its native capabilities and experience designing for email with Klaviyo or a similar ESP.
