About the Role
Our client is a growing beauty and lifestyle e-commerce brand offering innovative products designed to protect and care for consumers’ hair in everyday situations. As the brand continues to scale its paid social presence, they are looking for a Performance Video Editor who understands the intersection of video editing, direct-response advertising, and emerging AI creative tools.
This role is ideal for an editor who knows that effective performance creative is about more than making beautiful videos—you understand how to create content that stops the scroll, holds attention, drives clicks, and ultimately supports conversions.
What You’ll Do
- Edit short-form performance ads primarily for Meta and TikTok
- Turn UGC, raw footage, product demonstrations, testimonials, founder content, and existing assets into conversion-focused ads
- Create compelling hooks within the first 1–3 seconds
- Apply direct-response formats such as problem/solution, product demos, testimonials, before/after, comparisons, listicles, founder stories, and objection handling
- Develop multiple hooks, openings, CTAs, lengths, and creative variations from a single concept
- Repurpose winning creative into fresh iterations and new tests
- Incorporate feedback and performance insights from the marketing team into future edits
- Create content that feels native to TikTok, Reels, and social feeds rather than overly polished or traditional
- Add captions, motion graphics, product callouts, sound design, transitions, and visual effects where appropriate
- Use AI tools to support asset creation, B-roll, voiceovers, visual concepts, variations, editing, and other creative workflows
- Stay current with emerging trends across Meta, TikTok, DTC, creator content, and AI-powered creative
- Organize project files and maintain an efficient workflow for producing creative at scale
- Follow brand guidelines while helping evolve the brand's creative direction
Must-Have Skills
- Proven experience editing paid social ads for Meta and/or TikTok
- Portfolio demonstrating performance marketing, DTC, e-commerce, or consumer-focused creative
- Strong understanding of direct-response advertising and conversion-focused storytelling
- Ability to recognize the difference between creative that looks good and creative that performs commercially
- Strong sense of pacing, hooks, storytelling, typography, music, and platform-native editing
- Hands-on experience working with UGC and creator content
- Ability to produce multiple high-quality creative variations efficiently
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience using AI creative tools for video, imagery, voice, editing, or asset generation
- Curiosity about emerging AI platforms and a willingness to experiment with new creative workflows
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute creative briefs accurately
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and move quickly
- Comfortable using performance feedback and data to improve creative rather than relying solely on personal creative preference

- Experience with beauty, hair care, fashion, lifestyle, wellness, or consumer products
- Experience working with brands investing heavily in paid social
- Familiarity with performance metrics such as CTR, CPA, ROAS, hook rate, hold rate, and conversion rate
- Experience analyzing ad performance and identifying patterns between winning and underperforming creative
- Experience with AI video-generation platforms
- Experience creating synthetic UGC, AI-generated B-roll, localized creative, or AI-assisted product storytelling
- Motion graphics or animation skills
- Experience editing founder-led or personality-driven content
