About the Role

Our client is looking for a resourceful and curious Full-Stack Engineer who is comfortable jumping into unfamiliar systems, figuring out how things work, and turning product requirements into reliable, working solutions.

This role is not defined by years of experience alone. We're looking for an engineer who is hands-on, adaptable, and actively embracing modern AI-assisted development. You should be comfortable using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to understand existing code, accelerate development, troubleshoot problems, and build new features.

You'll work across the application, primarily using React, Next.js, and modern web technologies, while contributing to backend services, databases, APIs, and integrations.

The existing codebase has established development practices and guardrails, so you won't be expected to understand every part of the system immediately. What matters is your ability to explore an unfamiliar codebase, ask the right questions, learn quickly, and make thoughtful changes without introducing unnecessary complexity.

What You'll Do

• Build, maintain, and improve features across the frontend and backend of the app.
• Develop modern web experiences using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Work with databases and backend services, with Supabase being a key part of the preferred stack.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, and application logic.
• Navigate an existing codebase and quickly understand its architecture, patterns, and dependencies.
• Translate product requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools to explore codebases, accelerate development, troubleshoot issues, and improve productivity.
• Review and validate AI-generated code rather than accepting outputs without understanding them.
• Debug technical issues, investigate root causes, and implement reliable fixes.
• Test and validate changes before shipping.
• Follow existing architecture, development practices, and codebase guardrails.
• Collaborate with the team and communicate progress, questions, risks, and blockers clearly.
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and development approaches as the product evolves.

The Type of Engineer We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who approaches unfamiliar problems with the mindset:

"I don't know how this works yet, but I'll figure it out."

You should be comfortable opening an unfamiliar repository, reading existing code, understanding established patterns, and determining where changes need to be made.

You know how to break complex problems into smaller pieces, investigate errors, test possible solutions, and use documentation and AI tools effectively to accelerate your understanding.

Most importantly, you don't use AI simply to generate code. You know how to provide the right context, ask the right questions, evaluate the output, understand what is being changed, and validate that the solution actually works.

We strongly encourage candidates to share a GitHub profile, portfolio, and/or live applications that demonstrate what they have built.

Projects using technologies such as the following are particularly relevant:

We value demonstrable, hands-on work. During the interview process, you may be asked to walk us through a project you've personally built, explain the technical decisions you made, and discuss how you used AI tools throughout the development process.

• 3+ years of experience building applications with React and/or Next.js.
• Experience working with databases and backend services.
• Experience building or contributing to full-stack web applications.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and investigate problems without requiring step-by-step instructions.
• Comfortable navigating and learning unfamiliar codebases.
• Comfortable using AI tools as part of the software development process.
• Ability to understand, review, and validate AI-generated code.

• Experience with Supabase and PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with TypeScript.
• Experience deploying applications through Vercel.
• Experience building and integrating REST APIs or other backend services.
• Strong working knowledge of Git and GitHub.
• Experience with authentication, database schemas, migrations, storage, or server-side application logic.
• Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience using AI agents or agentic development workflows as part of day-to-day engineering.
• Experience building and deploying products independently from initial development through production.
