Email Copywriter Team Lead

The Role As the Email Copywriter Team Lead, you'll guide, coach, and develop our copywriting team while crafting high-converting, creative email marketing content.

Key Responsibilities:

Copywriting:

• Content Creation: Research and write exceptional email copy for campaigns.
• Revisions and Presentation: Collaborate with email strategists and clients, making necessary revisions.

Department Development:

• Enhancing Processes: Engage in continual refinement of departmental processes and KPIs.
• Optimizing Workflows: Leverage best practices and technologies (such as AI) to fine-tune workflows.
• Preparing for Growth: Shape the department to support continued growth.

Hiring Decisions: Play a vital role in identifying and onboarding new talent.

Team Management:

• Leadership and Coordination: Lead and manage the team with regular meetings, reviews, and training plans. Set team objectives and ensure they are met.
• Coordination: Coordinate workflows, and ensure timely and high-quality execution of tasks.
• Motivation and Growth: Encourage cooperation, provide feedback, and help team members grow. Understand how to inspire team members, acknowledging their strengths and weaknesses and helping them grow.
• Training and Development: Keep the team updated with the latest email marketing trends and tools, arranging for necessary training and development programs as needed.
• Accountability: ​​Take responsibility for the team's successes and failures, providing constructive feedback and praise where needed.

AI Systems & Innovation:

• Act as the department owner for AI-assisted copywriting workflows and best practices.
• Continuously refine and improve TEM's AI copywriting engine, prompts, training materials, and knowledge base to increase copy quality, consistency, and speed.

Identify opportunities to leverage AI to reduce turnaround times while maintaining or improving performance.

• Train and coach copywriters on effective AI usage, ensuring AI enhances strategic thinking rather than replacing it.
• Partner with leadership to develop a scalable AI-enabled copywriting department that can support future growth without sacrificing quality.

• Ensure client satisfaction with copy across all clients.
• Boost team productivity and ensure a 65% copywriting team gross margin.
• Ensure a copywriting team member satisfaction score of NPS 8+.

• Experience with AI-assisted copywriting tools, knowledge of multi-channel marketing (SEO, Facebook Ads, etc.), and familiarity with email marketing platforms and analytics.

• Email marketing platforms, AI copywriting tools, project management software, and analytics/KPI tracking systems.
