About the Role
Job Title: Sourcing Manager Candidate Location: China
We are hiring for a Sourcing Manager, Asia to take ownership of factory partnerships, sourcing operations, production execution, and vendor performance across our Asia-based supply chain network. This role will lead factory relationship management, sourcing initiatives, production oversight, vendor development, and operational alignment, ensuring quality, cost, compliance, and on-time delivery across all manufacturing partners.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly relationship-driven, operationally rigorous, culturally fluent, and solutions-oriented and can build strong factory partnerships, drive accountability, identify sourcing opportunities, and execute effectively across complex global supply chains in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Areas of Accountability:
*Factory Relations & Vendor Management*
- Serve as the primary representative and point of contact for all factory-level communications, negotiations, and relationship management across Asia-based vendors.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with factory ownership and leadership teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives, quality standards, and business priorities.
- Conduct regular factory visits to monitor operations, evaluate performance, resolve issues, and reinforce compliance expectations.
- Lead vendor onboarding, performance evaluations, corrective action plans, and ongoing supplier development initiatives.
*Sourcing & Factory Development*
-Identify, evaluate, and qualify new factory partners that meet quality, capacity, compliance, and operational requirements. -Conduct factory audits, capability assessments, and risk evaluations, providing recommendations to sourcing leadership. -Maintain and continuously update vendor scorecards, factory capability matrices, certifications, and performance records. -Support long-term sourcing strategies by providing market intelligence and factory development recommendations.
*Costing, Production Oversight & Execution*
-Support factory negotiations for materials, trims, cut-make-trim (CMT), and full-package production costs. -Analyze cost structures, including labor, material consumption, overhead, and margin assumptions, to validate factory pricing. -Monitor production milestones from development through final shipment, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to delivery schedules. -Provide regular reporting on production status, factory performance, operational risks, and market conditions to internal stakeholders.
*Fabric, Materials & Quality Compliance*
-Apply expertise in fabric construction, fiber content, garment manufacturing, and production processes to support product execution. -Evaluate material quality, performance, and suitability in partnership with Product Development and Technical Design teams. -Partner with Quality Control teams to implement and maintain factory-level quality assurance programs and compliance standards. -Identify, escalate, and drive resolution of quality concerns, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
*Cross Functional Collaboration*
-Partner with Global Sourcing to execute sourcing strategies, manage factory performance, and identify new manufacturing opportunities. -Work closely with Product Development, Technical Design, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure product quality, material performance, and production readiness. -Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, and factory partners across Asia to ensure seamless execution, risk mitigation, and on-time delivery.
Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience in apparel sourcing, production management, factory operations, or supply chain management, with significant experience across Asia. -Deep expertise in apparel manufacturing, fabric construction, garment production processes, and factory operations. -Strong vendor management, production planning, costing, negotiation, and operational leadership skills. -Ability to manage complex supplier relationships, solve problems proactively, and drive accountability across multiple stakeholders. -Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced global environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Science, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. -Experience with social compliance, sustainability audits, and factory certification programs, including WRAP, BSCI, SA8000, or similar standards. -Existing network of factory relationships across China and broader Asia manufacturing markets. -Experience with PLM, product lifecycle management, or product development systems. -Proficiency in additional Asian languages such as Vietnamese, Khmer, Korean, or other regional languages.
Workplace Arrangement: This role is remote based in China or Hong Kong, with extensive travel required throughout China and other key manufacturing regions across Asia, including Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, and South Korea. Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required.

- 10+ years in apparel sourcing, production management, or supply chain with significant Asia experience; deep expertise in garment manufacturing, fabric construction, and factory operations; fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese required.
