Job Title: Video Editor (Social-First, Beauty Focused)

About the Role We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Video Editor with a passion for beauty and a strong eye for aesthetics. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller who excels at crafting high-performing, social-first video content. You will play a key role in bringing brand narratives to life through engaging, visually compelling video across multiple platforms.

Position Overview The Video Editor will be responsible for editing a wide range of content including brand campaigns, product videos, tutorials, and social media assets across multiple brands within a portfolio. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands digital storytelling, and can tailor content to different platforms and audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, engaging video content for campaigns, product launches, tutorials, and brand storytelling
  • Adapt and optimize content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, paid media, and websites
  • Incorporate motion graphics, typography, color grading, and sound design to enhance visual appeal and engagement
  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to execute on brand vision and campaign goals
  • Maintain consistency with brand guidelines and visual identity
  • Organize and manage video assets for efficient storage and reuse
  • Stay up to date with trends in beauty, fashion, and lifestyle content
  • Apply platform-specific editing techniques to maximize hooks, engagement, and completion rates

Requirements

  • Strong video editing and post-production skills
  • Experience creating social-first content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
  • Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, transitions, music syncing, and visual flow
  • Ability to animate still images and create dynamic content from existing assets
  • Experience using AI tools for video editing, animation, and creative enhancements
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects for motion graphics
  • Familiarity with beauty and prestige brand aesthetics and trends
  • Ability to independently re-cut influencer or UGC content into high-performing paid ads
  • Strong instinct for identifying compelling hooks and key moments within footage
  • Ability to enhance content with graphics, text overlays, sound effects, and music aligned with premium brand standards
  • Creative, polished, and trend-aware visual style aligned with modern beauty brands
  • Ability to contribute creative ideas independently without reliance on detailed scripts

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience editing social-first video content
  • Expertise in short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects
  • Strong understanding of beauty, skincare, and prestige brand aesthetics

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with AI-driven creative tools
  • Familiarity with 3D software such as Blender
  • Proven ability to transform influencer/UGC content into paid social ads
  • Track record of creating high-performing hooks and engagement-driven edits

Tools & Tech Stack

  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Premiere Pro (or equivalent NLE)
  • AI animation and video generation tools
  • Social media analytics platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube)

Deal Breakers

  • No demonstrated experience with social-first video editing
  • Lack of proficiency in After Effects
  • Limited understanding of beauty or prestige brand aesthetics
  • Inability to work independently without detailed direction

Must-Have Skills

  • Expert video editor with 3+ years of social-first content creation for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, proficiency in Adobe After Effects for motion graphics, and a deep understanding of beauty/prestige brand aesthetics (Sephora, Rhode, Rare Beauty style).

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with AI creative tools for animation and video enhancement, 3D software like Blender, ability to re-cut influencer/UGC content into paid ads, and proven track record of creating high-engagement hooks and pacing strategies for short-form video.

Tools & Tech Stack

  • Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar NLE, AI animation/generation platforms, and social media analytics tools for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube optimization.
