About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Associate Merchandise Planner, Ecommerce to support planning and merchandising functions across an ecommerce and direct-to-consumer business. This role plays a critical part in driving inventory strategy, optimizing assortment performance, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the merchandising team.
You will partner cross-functionally with planning, merchandising, and operations teams to ensure strong execution of campaigns, accurate reporting, and effective inventory management in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
OTB & Assortment Management (50%)
- Support category planners with pre-season planning and in-season assortment management
- Assist in managing Open-to-Buy (OTB) processes and inventory flow
- Contribute to assortment planning for ecommerce and replenishment/refill business
- Opportunity to own a category independently based on performance and experience
Analysis & Reporting (25%)
- Build and maintain complex reporting tools for OTB, inventory, and sales performance
- Conduct ad hoc and seasonal analyses to support category and total business performance
- Analyze promotional performance and provide insights to inform future strategies
Campaign Execution (15%)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to execute ecommerce campaigns
- Support go-live preparation and ensure alignment across planning and merchandising
- Monitor campaign performance and flag risks/opportunities
Data & Process Management (10%)
- Maintain data accuracy across multiple systems and reporting tools
- Support end-to-end planning processes and documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution of merchandising initiatives
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2–3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, buying, or a related field
- Experience in ecommerce or direct-to-consumer environments preferred

- Advanced Excel skills (required)
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities
- Solid understanding of financial metrics and retail math
- Ability to translate data into actionable business insights
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a remote environment

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally across distributed teams
Must-Have Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant merchandising/planning experience
- Strong Excel proficiency is mandatory
- Must be able to work remotely within U.S. time zones (or as required by the business)
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in ecommerce or DTC business models
- Familiarity with merchandising planning systems
- Experience applying or training retail math concepts
