About the Role

We’re looking for a sharp, proactive, and culturally fluent Marketing Coordinator to own the day-to-day content creation and content operations process across Trolley’s founder brands, communities, programs, and initiatives. This role is responsible for transforming ideas, conversations, meetings, podcasts, events, speaking engagements, research, and industry discussions into high-quality content that can be distributed across Substack, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant channels. The Marketing Coordinator is not responsible for defining overall company strategy, but is expected to translate strategic direction into compelling content, manage the content pipeline, coordinate creative production, and ensure content moves from idea to publication efficiently. This role requires strong writing skills, excellent content judgment, deep familiarity with social media platforms, and the ability to identify what content will resonate with different audiences. Trolley operates with an AI-first mindset, and this role is expected to leverage AI tools to accelerate research, content development, ideation, repurposing, and workflow efficiency while maintaining a strong human voice. This is a full-time, execution-driven role requiring a balance of content creation, editorial ownership, content operations, and creative coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Content Creation & Editorial Ownership

Own the content production process from idea development through final delivery. Create and develop content across Substack, newsletters, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant channels. Transform founder conversations, meetings, podcasts, events, speaking engagements, and industry discussions into content opportunities. Draft newsletters, Substack posts, social content, founder thought leadership content, and community-facing content. Repurpose long-form content into platform-specific formats while maintaining message consistency. Adapt content to different audiences, platforms, and communication goals. Identify relevant trends, conversations, and content opportunities that support business objectives. Ensure all content reflects the intended voice, tone, and positioning of the founder or brand. Review content quality before publication and coordinate revisions when needed. Continuously suggest improvements in messaging, formats, storytelling approaches, and content distribution.

  1. Content Planning & Production Coordination

Build and manage editorial and content calendars aligned with business priorities and upcoming initiatives. Coordinate with editors, designers, producers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery. Create content briefs, content requirements, and creative direction for supporting team members. Manage content workflows, approvals, deadlines, and production schedules. Maintain organized content libraries, documentation, and editorial resources. Ensure content priorities remain aligned with company goals and current initiatives. Support content planning around events, mentorship programs, fellowships, founder activities, and community initiatives.

  1. Content Distribution & Platform Optimization

Ensure content is properly adapted and optimized for each platform rather than simply reposted. Manage content preparation and publishing workflows across Substack, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other channels. Review podcast recordings, interviews, and long-form content to identify content opportunities for distribution. Collaborate with editors and producers to ensure content is effectively repurposed into platform-specific assets. Maintain a strong understanding of platform trends, content formats, audience behavior, and emerging creators. Recommend content formats, hooks, and distribution approaches based on current platform performance and audience preferences.

  1. Performance, Trends & Optimization

Track key content and platform metrics, including engagement, reach, retention, and content performance. Identify what is working and propose improvements based on performance insights. Stay informed on platform updates, creator trends, and emerging content formats. Use AI tools to support research, content creation, repurposing, workflow efficiency, and editorial development. Operate with speed and consistency across multiple content streams without sacrificing quality. Continuously improve content workflows and contribute to scalable content systems.

Success In This Role Success in this role is measured by the ability to consistently transform ideas, conversations, and founder expertise into high-quality content that drives engagement, thought leadership, and audience growth across multiple channels. A successful Marketing Coordinator: Takes ownership of the content pipeline from idea to publication. Identifies content opportunities proactively rather than waiting for assignments. Translates founder conversations, meetings, events, podcasts, and insights into compelling content. Maintains a consistent founder voice across Substack, social media, and community-facing content. Creates high-quality content that feels authentic, thoughtful, and human—not generic or AI-generated. Understands what performs across different platforms and adapts content accordingly. Builds and maintains organized editorial calendars, content workflows, and production systems. Coordinates effectively with editors, designers, and creative contributors to keep content moving. Uses AI to accelerate workflows while maintaining quality and originality. Operates with autonomy, strong judgment, and attention to detail. Helps grow thought leadership, audience engagement, and community participation through content. Reduces content production and coordination load for the Production Lead by proactively managing content workflows and execution.

How This Role Fits Inside the Production Team This role exists to increase content production capacity, editorial consistency, and content execution across Trolley’s founder brands, communities, programs, and initiatives. The Production Lead owns content priorities, strategic direction, brand positioning, editorial themes, and final approvals. The Marketing Coordinator serves as the operational owner of content production, transforming strategic direction into published content while coordinating execution across multiple channels and formats. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to independently manage content workflows, editorial calendars, content production, and creative coordination while maintaining close collaboration with the Production Lead. Strategic business decisions, brand positioning, final approvals, and major content priorities remain with leadership.

What This Role Is Not A social media manager focused only on scheduling and posting content. A graphic designer, video editor, or creative production specialist. A pure content strategist responsible for defining company positioning. A CRM, outreach, or community operations role. An executive assistant. A task-only coordinator. A role focused solely on content planning without execution. A role that relies primarily on AI-generated content without strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong writing and editing skills, proven ability to create multi-platform content (Substack, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), deep understanding of social media dynamics and audience adaptation, and demonstrated experience managing content workflows from ideation to publication.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with podcast or long-form content repurposing, familiarity with AI tools for content acceleration, background in founder thought leadership or community-focused content, and analytics experience tracking engagement and platform performance.

Tools & Tech Stack

  • Content management and editorial calendar systems, social media platforms (Substack, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), AI writing and research tools, and standard creative collaboration software (Google Workspace, design/video review tools).
