About the Role
We’re helping our client find an Accounting Consultant (Manager Level) to support core accounting operations during a period of operational transition.
In this role, you will lead and support month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting while helping stabilize and improve accounting processes. You’ll work closely with AP, AR, payroll, and finance leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships across in-office and remote settings.
- Uphold internal controls and policies, including oversight of expense report review.
- Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget
preparation.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Manage the monthly and quarterly close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial information.
- Monitor revenue and expenses; coordinate the collection of payments and invoices.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Partner with FP&A on budgeting and expense management for each department.
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct reporting, proper controls, and timely issuance of year-end financial statements.
- Respond to inquiries from the Controller, CFO, and other finance and company-wide managers regarding special reporting requests.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure cross-functional requests are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance departmental workflows and ERP functionality.
Must-Have Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 3+ years in a supervisory role with responsibility for general ledger and/or financial
- reporting.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with e-commerce and inventory accounting required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving results and developing team members.
- Advanced proficiency in NetSuite ERP; proficient in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Stampli and Emburse required.
