Scope of the Role

As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, performance-driven short-form video content for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. You will work closely with the marketing and creative teams to transform raw footage and UGC into compelling ads that capture attention, drive engagement, and convert into sales.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Edit high-volume short-form video content for social media and paid ads
  • Transform raw footage and UGC into engaging, high-converting video creatives
  • Apply platform-specific best practices for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
  • Create strong hooks, pacing, and storytelling structures to maximize retention and conversions
  • Collaborate with creative strategists and marketing teams to execute campaign concepts
  • Iterate on creatives based on performance data and feedback
  • Add motion graphics, captions, sound effects, and visual enhancements where needed
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines while maintaining creative freshness
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet fast turnaround deadlines
  • Stay up to date with social media trends and emerging content formats

Must-Have Skills

  • 2–4+ years of experience as a video editor focused on short-form content (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
  • Proven experience editing for e-commerce or CPG brands
  • Strong portfolio showcasing performance-driven video content (ads, UGC, social media)
  • Deep understanding of social media trends and platform-specific editing styles
  • Experience creating high-converting video ads (hooks, pacing, retention optimization)
  • Ability to work with raw UGC and turn it into polished, engaging content
  • Strong storytelling skills with a focus on conversion and engagement
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with high content volume
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet quick turnaround times

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience working with paid media teams or performance marketing teams
  • Familiarity with A/B testing creatives and iterating based on performance data
  • Motion graphics and animation skills
  • Experience with sound design and video optimization for mobile viewing
  • Basic understanding of direct response marketing principles
  • Experience with scripting or ideation for ad creatives
  • Familiarity with AI video tools or automation tools
